Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone couldn't help but remind everyone their 3-1 history after beating Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors in Game 4 of their playoff series.

The Nuggets stayed alive in the series after taking down the Warriors on Sunday, 126-121. Nikola Jokic erupted for a monster 37 points on top of eight rebounds and six assists to get Denver to live for another day. Monte Morris and Bones Hyland were also both critical, chipping in 24 and 15 points, respectively.

Sure enough after the contest, Malone has renewed optimism about the Nuggets. After all, they have been in a similar situation before.

“We're alive… of all teams, we are probably most comfortable being down 3-1,” Malone said, per Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.

To recall, the Nuggets have won not just one but two series after dropping to a 3-1 hole. Both came consecutively in the 2020 playoffs, during which Denver overcame the Utah Jazz and the Los Angeles Clippers to reach the Western Conference Finals.

Simply put, this is a Nuggets team that doesn't give up and often thrives when their backs are on the wall.

Also, talking about 3-1 leads, the Warriors know they have a bad history with it from that epic 2016 NBA Finals when the Cleveland Cavaliers erased the Dubs' lead to win the title.

Of course this is a different Nuggets and Warriors teams we're talking about. Denver doesn't have their other star in Jamal Murray, while Golden State has a well-balanced roster filled with young guns and veterans who have been hardened by the postseason.

Hopefully for the Nuggets, they can recapture some of their 2020 form and make life harder for the Warriors.
