Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray is becoming one of the most exciting young stars in the NBA. The spit-fire guard has constantly improved his game every year since his rookie season.
The knock on the Canadian through his three years in the league is his defense. This season, however, Murray has shown strides in that aspect of his game. While he isn't locking people down on the perimeter like Kawhi Leonard or Patrick Beverley, it's good to see Murray working on his game.
In an NBA.com special about Denver's quarter season review, team president Tim Connelly said that Murray is too important and too good to just be hidden on defense, per Alex Labidou.
With his growth and development over the years and the possibility that he can be one of their franchise cornerstones next to superstar center Nikola Jokic, the Nuggets invested a five-year $170-million extension for Murray. The deal runs through the 2024-25 season.
