Tiger Woods has missed the cut at the 2022 Open Championship after posting a 3-over 75 Friday. He entered the day having an even worse first round of 6-over 78. His combined 9-over par is one of the worst scores of his career at a major. That's certainly a far cry from what he had been hoping for at one of his favorite courses, St. Andrews.

After the round, Woods acknowledged a rather sad reality.

“This might have been my last Open at St. Andrews,” said Woods.

The Old Course is generally used as the host for the Open Championship every five to eight years or so. Tiger Woods is 46 years old and will turn 47 this December. His body has clearly begun to break down. Not to mention, he is likely still not fully healed from the horrific car accident a year and a half ago.

St. Andrews has always held a special place in Woods' heart. Over the last 100 years, only Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus have won two Open Championships at St. Andrews. The course looks and plays very differently from just about anything you will ever seen in the United States. It's in the birthplace of the sport of golf, Scotland.

The wide open feel, paired with incredibly undulated fairways and greens. The course certainly played very tough for the 15-time Major champion.

Woods' day started off well, earning par on the first couple of holes before sinking a birdie putt on the par-4 3rd. But he immediately followed that up with bogeys on four and six, all but crushing hopes of reaching the weekend. If it was indeed the last time we see Tiger Woods walking the Old Course, the sight and sound of him walking up 18 was something else.
