For those who had a conversation about Hawks star Vince Carter's age again this week – he heard you loud and clear.

Karl Anthony-Towns is fortunate that he wasn't defending V.C. from his old Toronto Raptors days, or you could bet your bottom dollar that it would've been a much different outcome on this play.

But let's just all agree that the wondrous hangtime put on display by Carter here completely offsets the fact that he didn't end up throwing it down.

Seriously, who cares. The floater was just as special, and it fell in the hole.

And of course, let's not forget that he's 42 years old.

Carter is still going the extra mile in keeping himself germane to the league, and it all starts with his shooting ability – currently averaging 6.6 points on .431/.391/.675 shooting splits.

The 21-year vet is yet to announce whether or not he is calling it quits once the season ends next month.

If you ask most of the NBA, especially the young Atlanta Hawks roster, it would only be right if he returned for another campaign. However, nobody would blame him either way.

The Hawks came out on top against the Minnesota Timberwolves 131-123 in Wednesday night's matchup, with rookie sensation Trae Young still gunning for his Rookie of the Year chances.

Young finished the game with 36 points, 10 assists, and eight rebounds – currently second among all rookies in points per game with 17.5.

Atlanta improves to 21-41, though the playoffs still seem well out of reach for them at this point of the year with only 20 games left in the regular season.

Vince Carter has averaged 17.3 points and 4.4 rebounds over the course of his illustrious career.
