The Indiana Pacers' Pascal Siakam was one of the breakout stars of the 2024 NBA Playoffs, and now he has an important decision to make prior to the 2024 Olympics. The Douala, Cameroon born stretch forward could join his native country for a key date on the 2024 Summer Olympics calendar.

Intel on Siakam's potential future decision was shared by the website HoopsHype.com during a time when former Pacer Jeff Teague chimed in on why the Pacers to get Paul George back. George shared his thoughts on possibly having his jersey retired by the Pacers or another team from the Western Conference.

Siakam's decision is one that could impact the future of the African nation's basketball program for years to come.

Cameroon is scheduled to play in a six-team Olympic qualifying tournament in early July. According to HoopsHype, Siakam has not yet decided whether he will play for his native country.

Last season, Siakam averaged 21.3 points, 7.8 assists, about half a block and nearly a full steal per game for Coach Rick Carlisle's Pacers.

The 6-foot-8 forward shot a career best 38.6 percent from the three-point line. Siakam also turned in his highest postseason scoring average since 2021-2022, when he averaged over 22.8 points per game.

Pacers' NBA Draft outlook

The Pacers do not have a first round pick in this year's NBA Draft but they do own picks 36, 49 and 50.

The Pacers could look to snag another sleeper talent akin to Siakam or they could perhaps draft a young player who still needs development like Bronny James to stash away for future seasons.

Regardless of what Rick Carlisle's team does this offseason, the Pacers must focus on managing their roster to peak efficiency while tweaking things here and there to become a team capable of dethroning the Eastern Conference Champion Boston Celtics.

It won't be easy, but Siakam's offseason could play a pivotal role. The former Toronto Raptors star has the skills to lead the Pacers to the NBA's promised land, but it will be exceedingly difficult if he's too spent from a long run in the Olympics this summer.
