The Sacramento Kings sent shockwaves throughout the NBA on Tuesday after they pulled the trigger on a blockbuster deal that will now see Domantas Sabonis take his talents to Sactown. In exchange, the Kings sent a package to the Indiana Pacers that is centered around highly-promising guard Tyrese Haliburton.

As it turns out, even Haliburton himself was surprised by this unexpected turn of events (h/t Mark Jones of ESPN):

In the previous weeks leading up to Thursday's trade deadline, the Kings gave off a certain sense that Haliburton was untouchable. Apparently, even the 21-year-old himself thought this was the case. Haliburton was seen by many as an up-and-coming guard who was a key cog in Sacramento's core. As it turns out, the Kings did not really think so.

Sacramento has a game scheduled for Tuesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves and we're pretty sure Haliburton already had his mind set on suiting up for that contest. He's also coming off a career-high 17-assist game and was most likely hoping to build upon that strong performance. Little did he know he was going to be packing his bags just hours before tipoff.

As for the Pacers, this could be considered a huge win for them. Sabonis has long been on the trade block and they certainly landed quite the haul in exchange for the All-Star center. With Haliburton and Buddy Hield now part of Indiana's backcourt rotation, this team could be a real problem out East.
