As the Green Bay Packers prepare to get the 2019 NFL season underway in the first game of the year against the Chicago Bears, there are things that they are still scrambling to figure out. Even after a solid showing on both sides of the football against the Houston Texans last week in a 28-26 win, Matt LaFleur and company have a lot of work to do.

The last two seasons have been torture for the proud Packers' fan base. After years of competing for Super Bowls with Aaron Rodgers leading the way, the team has failed to make the playoffs the last two years and they have seen their superstar quarterback deal with some major injuries.

Rodgers saw the team move on from a few longtime teammates this offseason. Randall Cobb left town in free agency to join the Dallas Cowboys and Clay Matthews signed with the Los Angeles Rams. Green Bay also made a tough decision to release defensive lineman Mike Daniels, who ended up signing with the Detroit Lions.

LaFleur is set to begin a new era of football in Green Bay and there is a lot of excitement surrounding the team. They went out and signed big money free agents like Adrian Amos, Za'Darius Smith, and Preston Smith. Green Bay also drafted Rashan Gary and Darnell Savage.

All of that being said, let's dive in and take a look at the three biggest questions facing the Packers this week.

Rashan Gary, Packers

3. Can Rashan Gary and Darnell Savage Continue Developing

A lot will hinge on Rashan Gary and Darnell Savage for the Packers' defense this season. Both players are extremely talented rookies, but there are still some questions surrounding them. Green Bay needs them to show continual development throughout the preseason.

Gary received a lot of criticism during the draft process due to his lack of production in college. A lot of that had to do with being double teamed on most plays, which gives him a chance to prove himself again with the Packers. Savage, on the other hand, will be asked to be an immediate starter alongside Adrian Amos as the team looks to shore up their secondary.

2. Are the Young Receivers for Real?

Next up, the offensive side of the football is something to keep a close eye on this week. Green Bay is very high on quite a few of their young receivers, including Equanimeous St. Brown, Jake Kumerow, Darrius Shepherd, Allen Lazard, and even J'Mon Moore. The team needs to see more from them.

Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks to ever throw the football in the NFL. He is an amazing talent, but he needs to find out which of his young targets are ready to contribute right now.

1. How Does the Offense Look with Aaron Rodgers and Matt LaFleur?

Finally, the Packers are about to get their first look at their new offense with the starters playing. As of right now, it sounds like Rodgers and the starters are going to play around a quarter.

It will be interesting to see how the offense looks with Rodgers and LaFleur running the show. Green Bay needs this to go smoothly and the media has been sure to criticize the duo at any chance possible. This is a chance for the Packers to shut the critics up with a big quarter of offense.
