Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers seems to have accepted that he may never win the NFL MVP award again after his recent COVID-19 vaccine debacle.

In his recent appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers admitted that it's a “legitimate statement” when McAfee brought up the possibility.

“And do you know that you’re probably never going to win an MVP again?” McAfee said before mentioning the COVID-19 vaccine controversy the Packers QB was involved in, per The Spun. “That’s probably never going to happen, right?”

To recall, Aaron Rodgers received a ton of backlash amid his COVID-19 vaccine stance. He was slammed for misleading people that he's vaccinated when, in fact, he hasn't taken a shot and instead opted for other treatments he believes would “immunize” him.

Rodgers has since acknowledged his mistake and opinion, which he called “polarizing.” However, he's standing by his stance despite the criticisms he has received.

“I shared an opinion that is polarizing, I get it. I misled some people about my status which I take full responsibility of those comments, but in the end I have to stay true to who I am and what I'm about. I stand behind the things that I said,” Rodgers explained in the show, per Lily Zhao of FOX6.

While Rodgers has undoubtedly angered and frustrated a lot of people, there is no denying he's playing at an MVP level once again and still deserves to be in the conversation. He has sparked the Packers to an 8-2 start, which is the best record in the NFL tied with the Arizona Cardinals and Tennessee Titans.

It remains to be seen if he can win back-to-back MVP awards, and while he has accepted he may not win it again, it will still be surprising if he won't be in the voting.
