Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers dug themselves a deep hole with their loss on Sunday and now making the playoffs is going to be a long shot.

To even have a shot the Packers are going to need to win their five games and even then, that will probably not be enough to get back into the playoffs.

After the game, Rodgers was asked about the team's chances, and he broke down exactly how the team could get the job done. In a quote shared by Pro Football Talk, the Packers' fan base can clearly see that while he is still hopeful, the expectation of the playoffs is not there.

“We are where we are right now, record-wise, and we are going to need some help from some teams and then we have got to take care of our own business. We are going to have to find a way to win a game on the road. We are 0-6 on the road. We just need to go back home, get some rest, beat Arizona, and then come back, beat Atlanta. Then we need to go to Chicago, a place we’ve won a number of times, beat them. Go to New York [Jets] around Christmas, beat them, and then come home against Detroit, beat them. Get a little help.”

With five wins that would move the Packers to 9-6-1, which means if the two Wild Card teams have ten or more wins, they wouldn't make it. If they don't make it, the seat under Mike McCarthy might be on fire, and it is hard to imagine a way that he would be able to keep his job.

Green Bay is an exceptionally talented team, but they have not been able to put everything together. Even the offense has struggled with consistency, partially due to Rodgers' knee injury.

All of that being said, the Packers' hopeful journey to the playoffs will begin next week at Lambeau Field against the Arizona Cardinals.
