There has been a lot going on in the world at the moment. And with the recent and tragic George Floyd murder, a lot of celebrities and athletes have been speaking up. One of those athletes was Aaron Rodgers. The Green Bay Packers quarterback has made multiple statements and social media posts about racial injustice and everything that is going on in the world right now.

Most people have been very happy with how he has handled the situation. Not everyone though.

One of those people is tight end and former teammate of Rodgers', Martellus Bennett. Bennett took to Twitter to point out the problems he had with the statement from the quarterback.

Bennett's big issue is that Rodgers' uses “they”. While some might say that the Packers QB was trying to not lump himself in with minorities, Bennett sees it a different way.

Bennett does not see this as Rodgers trying to keep himself out of the spotlight and put the focus on black people. He sees it as his former quarterback not being an ally, but a “spectator”.

The logic behind this is pretty simple. Clearly what Bennett is saying is that if Rodgers does not feel like he is battling or trying to get a conversation started, then he is not helping. If Rodgers is not trying to make a difference, he is simply spectating.

This will undoubtedly create some division. Some fans will feel that the tight end is being too hard on the quarterback, who was trying to make a statement of unity.

However, other people absolutely have a case to make that Rodgers made it sound like he is not in the fight with everyone else. And Bennett was simply pointing that out.
