Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is reportedly frustrated about the lack of communication from the front office about big decisions this offseason, particularly the departure of wide receiver Jordy Nelson and quarterbacks coach Alex Van Pelt.

But when asked personally about what type of input he’d like to have in terms of personnel decisions, Rodgers simply responded by saying he realizes what his role on the team is.

“I know my role, and that's to play as well as I possibly can at quarterback,” Rodgers said per Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.

Rodgers was also complimentary of the organizational structure in Green Bay with head coach Mike McCarthy and believes that they need to “trust the process” to continue enjoying all the success they’ve had.

“This process works, and it has worked for Mike for a number of years,” said Rodgers. “Obviously, that's why he's still here in his 13th season. We've had a lot of success here, and just got to trust the process.”

Rodgers did a decent job of deflecting those questions about the issue of him wanting more input as he borrowed a famous phrase popularize in Philadelphia. But despite him saying all the right things about “trusting the process,” there could still be some lingering desire for him to get more control within the franchise.

It remains to be seen whether the franchise will actually concede that to their star quarterback, although it seems unlikely. But with Rodgers still under contract with the team and working on an extension to stay in Green Bay long-term, there’s a chance he might be willing to come to some sort of understanding to resolve the issue moving forward.
