Rodgers was born in Chico, California and actually grew up as a fan of the San Francisco 49ers. Therefore, the future Hall-of-Fame quarterback was undeniably a fan of Joe Montana as he watched the 49ers play.
But like all good things, Montana's run with the 49ers came to an end and Rodgers needed another quarterback to root for. Shortly after Montana was dominating the NFL, Favre started to become a household name for the Packers.
From 1992-2007, Favre spent the majority of his career in Green Bay as the starting quarterback. While with the Packers, Favre made his name by being a quarterback who could make any throw. Favre's skill set sounds eerily similar to how Rodgers carries himself on the field.
Of course, Rodgers would become Favre's backup when Green Bay drafted him in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft. After spending a few years learning from Favre, Rodgers became an elite quarterback in his own right.
Prior to being selected by the Packers, Rodgers believed that his hometown 49ers would draft him. Instead, they chose to go with Alex Smith with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.
Even though he would've liked to play in San Francisco, it's safe to say Rodgers has done well for himself in Green Bay. Now, he'll get a chance to ultimately make the 49ers by beating them in the NFC Championship.
