Matt LaFleur and Aaron Rodgers experienced quite a bit of success in their first season as a tandem. The Green Bay Packers won 13 games, captured the NFC North division title, and locked up a first-round bye. They topped it off with an NFC Championship Game appearance before falling to the San Francisco 49ers.

But does the future hold even bigger and better things?

Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst is already excited about the 2020 campaign:

“I’m really excited to see what he can do in Year 2,” Gutekunst said, per Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk. “I know Matt talks a lot about what Matt Ryan did in Year 2, the comparatives there. I’m really excited to see where him and the offense can go.”

Remember: Rodgers did not seem too thrilled with the LaFleur hiring at first. Last offseason, there appeared to be some tension forming between Rodgers and LaFleur about how much freedom the quarterback had at the line of scrimmage.

Obviously, winning fixed that tension pretty quickly.

On the season, Rodgers threw for 4,002 yards, 26 touchdowns and four interceptions while completing 62 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 95.4 en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

While the offense labored a bit at times, it seemed pretty clear that LaFleur and Rodgers were on the same page throughout the season, and it resulted in the Packers reaching the playoffs for the first time in three years.

Green Bay probably needs to add some more weapons this offseason, and if it does, it is going to be even more dangerous next year.
