One of the most glaring needs for the Green Bay Packers going into the 2020 NFL Draft was their lack of depth at wide receiver. Yet, somehow, the Packers didn't take a single wideout through seven rounds.

But apparently, it wasn't due to a lack of effort.

According to Peter King of NBC Sports, general manager Brian Gutekunst said that Green Bay attempted to move up in the second round to take one of the two receivers it was targeting. However, the Packers were unable to find a trade in time, as the top two receivers on their list got picked.

Green Bay ended up taking Boston College running back A.J. Dillon with the 62nd overall pick, which came after the club traded up to select Utah State quarterback Jordan Love in the first round.

Given that this was one of the deepest wide receiver classes we had seen in quite some time, it probably isn't sitting well with Aaron Rodgers that the Packers didn't take a single wideout.

Not only that, but Green Bay, which had significant trouble stopping the run this past season, did not do much to shore up its defensive front, either, only taking University of Minnesota linebacker Kamal Martin in the fifth round and later choosing University of Miami defensive end Jonathan Garvin in the seventh round.

It was certainly a puzzling draft for a Packers team that won 13 games, notched a first-round bye and made it all the way to the NFC Championship Game this past season.
