The Green Bay Packers were hammered by the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night, but they almost suffered a much bigger loss.

In the first quarter, right tackle Bryan Bulaga left the game with what some feared was an ACL injury, but according to Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com, Bulaga's injury was not nearly that severe, with a source saying that Bulaga did not re-injure the ACL he tore in 2017.

Bulaga could miss next Sunday's matchup against the New York Giants and one more game after that, but Demovsky notes that the Packers “should have him back for the stretch run,” which is obviously great news.

The 30-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Iowa, was originally selected by Green Bay in the first round (23rd pick overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft.

He has been the Packers' starting right tackle ever since, and while Bulaga has never made a Pro Bowl, he has been a steady force along Green Bay's offensive line (when he has been healthy) for the last decade.

Of course, Bulaga avoiding a major injury scare was about the only good news Green Bay receiver on Sunday evening.

The Packers were blasted by the 49ers to the tune of 37-8 and went just 1-for-15 on third downs, coming close to being blanked in such situations for the first time since 1999.

Obviously, Green Bay is just going to try and turn the page and move on to the Giants, but given that the Packers were fighting with the Niners for home-field advantage in the NFC, this one really stings.

Green Bay is now 8-3 on the season.
