When discussing the NFL's elite group of wide receivers, names like Antonio Brown and Julio Jones are usually the first ones that come to mind. However, there is one wideout looking to get in the discussion.

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams has firmly established himself as one of the most promising wideouts in the league. According to ESPN's Rob Demovsky, he is looking to put the NFL on notice this season:

“Top-five, top-10 receivers and things like that,” Adams said. “My name comes up in some of those conversations, but it's not unanimous.

“I still don't have the big-picture respect that I feel like I deserve, but at the same time that's the fuel that continues to drive me so it's not like it's really an issue that I'm not being recognized. But that's what keeps me going.”

There is plenty of truth to Adams' comments. His career in Green Bay got off to a rocky start. However, he has become a red zone favorite for quarterback Aaron Rodgers over the past two seasons. His 22 touchdowns receptions are more than any other wideout in the league during that span.

Adams' development into a bonafide No. 1 wideout for Green Bay is likely what led to the franchise parting ways with wide receiver Jordy Nelson. He certainly has some big shoes to fill in the coming years. Although he has yet to register a 1,000-yard campaign, that could very well change this season. In fact, Adams could produce some serious numbers with a healthy Rodgers at the helm.
