Christmas Day became a tragic moment for Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling. The wide receiver announced that his eight-month old nephew tragically passed away earlier this day.

Since Marquez Valdes-Scantling was unavailable to play due to COVID-19 protocols, Packers star and fellow wide receiver Davante Adams made sure to honor his teammate in some form. Kassidy Hill reported that Adams prayed for his teammate after he scored his first touchdown against the Cleveland Browns.

Davante Adams has proven time and time again that he's one of the classiest players in the NFL, and this act from him proves that point. The Packers are incredibly lucky that they got a talented player and a good man off the field in Adams.

As for the Packers' game against the Bears, it was a close contest that the NFC leaders won 24 – 22. The highlight of the game was star quarterback Aaron Rodgers surpassing Brett Favre's touchdown record in franchise history, cementing his status as one of the greatest to play for Green Bay. As for Adams, it was the usual performance out of him: 10 catches for 114 yards and two touchdowns.

The Packers have clinched a playoff spot, and are the clear-cut favorites to earn the 1st seed in the NFC. The team will likely rest most of their key players in the following week to prepare for the playoffs. Hopefully, the team gives Marquez Valdes-Scantling ample time to recover from the devastating news he received today.

Our thoughts and prayers go to the Valdes-Scantling family.
