The Green Bay Packers are going through some notable changes to their wide receiver corps, headlined by the departure of former Pro Bowl wideout Jordy Nelson after 10 seasons with the team.

This has left a significant leadership void for that group, with the most experienced voice in the locker room no longer there. During an interview with Stacy Dales of the NFL Network, Davante Adams made it clear that he is ready to pick up that huge responsibility both on the field and in the locker room. “No Jordy this year. That's just more responsibility for me. A lot of people expecting some big things and it' my job to get it done whether I got paid or not. I'm definitely looking forward to the opportunity to take on a little more responsibility.”

Adams is set to take on an even greater role in the passing game as possibly the top receiving option for All-Pro quarterback Aaron Rodgers next season. He is coming off another productive year where he had 74 catches for 885 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, which marked his second straight year with more at least 70 catches for 850 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.

Meanwhile, he will be one of the more experienced players on the roster at the position along with Randall Cobb, as the two could should lead the charge along with offseason addition Pro Bowl tight end Jimmy Graham. Beyond both Adams and Cobbs, the rest of the wide receivers have three years or less of experience in the league.

This is a huge opportunity for Adams to quickly prove that he is worth his four-year, $58 million extension by stepping into a more prominent role both on and off the field as one of the leaders of the receiving corps.
