San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman has faced his fair share of talented receivers over his legendary career. However, one who stands out wears the Green Bay Packers' green and gold: Davante Adams.

Davante Adams, a two-time Pro Bowler, recently earned recognition from Sherman for being an extremely talented force on the gridiron. In a feature piece about Adams written by NFL Media's Mike Silver, the 49ers star said:

“He is incredibly talented, first and foremost. He does a great job of accelerating and decelerating within his route. And his releases are some of the best you will see in this league.”

Adams' signature trait is his endless combinations of releases. He, like very few in the NFL, has an uncanny ability to create separation whether he's in the slot, out-wide, or facing press coverage.

In each of Adams' six years in the NFL, he's faced Sherman in some fashion. According to Pro Football Reference, Adams recorded 187 yards and a score in his regular-season matchups against the Seattle Seahawks (when Sherman was there). In 2018, he faced Sherman as a 49er; the result? Ten receptions for 132 yards and two touchdowns.

Fortunately, another matchup between the receiver and corner is set for the 2019 regular season. On November 24th, San Francisco will host Adams and the Packers. If the two are healthy by then, one can expect Sherman will be tasked with limiting Adams.

Before then, however, Adams will have to face a loaded Chicago Bears defense in Chicago for the NFL's regular-season opener on Thursday night.
