The Green Bay Packers are looking to right the ship in 2019 after the storied franchise missed the playoffs for a second straight season last year. The team has made an effort to upgrade on both sides of the football while also revamping the coaching staff with Matt LaFleur now the helm as Mike McCarthy's successor.

Along with the offense going through some changes which have already received some rave reviews from superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the defense has also been altered with some new faces on that side of the football. One of those new faces is making an impression on the team's best wide receiver, Davante Adams.

According to Adams, rookie safety Darnell Savage is going to be a player to watch in Green Bay with the Packers' first-round draft pick considered a steal by the two-time Pro Bowler.

The defense has been a significant concern for the Packers during their struggles over the past few years. The offense has dominated the headlines with Rodgers overshadowing the team's flaws at times, but now Green Bay has made an effort to rectify their issues defensively.

It remains to be seen whether the addition of Savage is a step in the right direction as he'll have much to prove in his first season with the Packers. However, receiving the praise that he's gotten from Adams is a promising sign for a team desperately in need of a boost on the defensive side of the football.

The Packers will try to end the playoff drought in 2019 with LaFleur and other additions to the team like Savage potentially being what has been missed in Green Bay.
