Kizer's training camp did not exactly get off to the best start, as he had a poor day last Thursday. However, he followed that up with strong performances on Friday and Saturday. But then, on Sunday, Kizer had another rough day, and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett says it's all part of the learning process for the youngster.
“That’s always what you’re striving for with all quarterbacks,” said Hackett. “The great quarterbacks are the ones that are consistent every game, every play. He’s been in a couple systems now, and I think that once again, him just continuing to understand the system is the first battle he has to fight.”
Kizer was originally selected by the Cleveland Browns in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft and had one miserable season as the Browns' starter before being traded to the Packers in March 2018.
