A “down” year for Aaron Rodgers would be a career-best campaign for the vast majority of NFL quarterbacks. That's why coming into 2019, there's immense optimism the Green Bay Packers superstar will quickly re-establish himself as perhaps the league's most valuable player after he labored through injuries to himself and his teammates amid coaching turmoil a season ago

Rodgers, of course, still threw for 4,442 yards, 25 touchdowns, and two interceptions in 2018, posting the league's lowest interception rate. But poised to be fully healthy come September and playing under rookie head coach Matt LaFleur, a noted quarterback guru, the seven-time Pro Bowler figures to put up better numbers this season – and ESPN agrees.

The worldwide leader projects Rodgers to throw for 4,195 yards, 31 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in 2019. He's also expected to rush for 258 yards and a score on 45 carries.

If Rodgers is full-strength and thrives in LaFleur's lauded new system, these numbers, frankly, almost seem tepid. He had 40 touchdown passes in 2016, his last completely healthy season, and has thrown for at least 31 touchdowns on five separate occasions. Packers wide receiver DaVante Adams, after hauling in 111 catches and 13 touchdowns a year ago, is ready to stake his claim as the best wideout in football, too.

Rodgers, by the way, revealed in April that he played last season while fighting through a tibial plateau fracture and sprained MCL in his left leg as the result of a hit that he took against the Chicago Bears in Week 1. He recently said he's feeling “great,” though, and has expressed excitement about LaFleur's offensive schemes during OTAs.
