The Green Bay Packers' bid to keep Aaron Rodgers has taken multiple twists and turns during the NFL offseason. One of the biggest was the news that Rodgers, who is the reigning league MVP, wanted to be the NFL's highest-paid player. It's not an unreasonable request for a player of Rodgers' caliber, though it is particularly unrealistic given the Packers' cap situation.

In another twist, the Packers star recently denied the claims that he wanted a $50 million salary. However, on Monday, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport gave another update, which is one of the biggest yet in the Rodgers-Packers offseason show.

While Rapoport's update sounds good for Packers fans, it doesn't completely mean that Rodgers is coming back. However, it's a terrific sign that the veteran signal-caller and the front office are on the same page about the process.

Interestingly enough, Rapoport did mention the title of NFL's highest-paid player when it came to the talks between Rodgers and the Packers. While it may not be as expensive as $50 million, it will almost certainly cost Green Bay a fortune to bring Rodgers back if he ultimately decides to stay.

Rodgers has been linked to almost all the NFL teams in light of his rumored indecision on his future. But he has unfinished business with the Packers after an early exit, so that could be a motivating factor for him.
