The Green Bay Packers have a decision to make at the tight end position this offseason and Marcedes Lewis believes the team has their future starter already on the roster. Ahead of the offseason, Lewis revealed his thoughts about Jace Sternberger.

Lewis, who is an impending free agent, has spent 14 seasons in the NFL; with two of them coming with the Packers. Provided that, he knows more than most when it comes to evaluating a player at tight end.

Last offseason, Green Bay selected Sternberger with the 75th overall pick in the draft. Coming out of Texas A&M, Sternberger was highly touted as a receiving threat in an offense.

Unfortunately, before Week 1, Sternberger was placed on injured reserve due to an ankle injury. Despite returning in Week 9, the rookie tight end failed to record a reception in the regular season.

Then, in the playoffs, Sternberger combined for three receptions for 15 yards and a touchdown. Ever since the Packers drafted him, they've been excited about the future that Sternberger could have.

In the upcoming offseason, Green Bay will have to make a decision on Jimmy Graham. Graham is entering the final year of his current contract, but he holds a hefty $11.6 million price tag in 2020. Consequently, the Packers could choose to part ways with Graham to free up some cap space.

Additionally, it remains to be seen if Lewis intends to play another season in the NFL. In the event that Graham is released, Lewis believes the team will be in good hands with Sternberger.
