The Green Bay Packers were dealt with a shocking 28-22 loss at the hands of the Minnesota Vikings in a Week 8 tilt. The team's offense looked good but the run defense still had more rooms for improvement after it failed to contain the Vikings' returning running back in Dalvin Cook.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur knew that they had to learn quickly from their errors and avoid the same mistakes as they head for a rematch of last season's NFC title game against the San Francisco 49ers:

“That’s something that we better get it fixed,” LaFleur said, “and we better get it fixed fast because I have a pretty good idea of what’s going to happen on a short week on Thursday in San Francisco as well.”

In his first game back since suffering an adductor strain three weeks ago, Cook delivered a masterclass performance with 163 rushing yards on 30 carries and three drives that resulted in touchdowns. He also did damage on the aerial attack as he generated 63 receiving yards on two receptions and a scored touchdown for the Vikings. He went on to become the first Viking in over four decades to score four touchdowns in a game.

Despite having letdowns on the defensive end, the Packers offense played its part as receiver Davante Adams answered with three touchdown scores of his own along with 53 yards on seven catches. However, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was sacked by Vikings rookie defensive end D.J. Wonnum to seal the victory for the Minnesota-based squad.

A more improved run defense by the Packers is expected on their Week 9 showdown against the Niners.
