Green Bay Packers Matt LaFleur is dealing with a torn Achilles but he is trying to make the most of the situation. On Saturday, LaFleur was still at Davante Adams celebrity softball tournament and threw out the first pitch, even though on Sunday surgery is scheduled.
LaFleur knows that the injury is going to cause some issues with coaching but he is going to do everything in his power to make everything as normal as possible.
“We’re all going to face a little bit of adversity,” LaFleur told PackersNews.com. “You can’t let it hold us back. So that’s just kind of like my mindset, you know? It is what it is and you make the best out of whatever situation comes.”
Only a day after suffering the injury LaFleur was already back on the practice field and expects to do most of the coaching this offseason from a cart.
After the surgery is completed it could take up to six months for a full recovery so some of the issues could spill over into the season. LaFleur knows that everything is going to be okay, especially with the group of guys that are in the Packers locker room.
“I think the one thing I’ve learned just in the short period that we’ve been together is that we do have a bunch of good, high-character people,” LaFleur said. “That’s what I think everything is about. That’s how you build great teams. It pumps me up when I see all these guys get together and get out and do something good for the community.”
