The Green Bay Packers attributed to some of the biggest drama of the 2022 NFL Offseason. For a long time, it was unclear whether or not Aaron Rodgers would return to Green Bay, retire, or completely join a different organization.

Davante Adams' future with Green Bay also contributed to the confusion. After rumors of his potential departure, the star wide receiver asked for a trade and later joined the Las Vegas Raiders.

According to The Athletic, Adams directly asked for a trade after the 2022 NFL Combine. He called multiple “decision-makers” within the organization, including Matt LaFleur and Brian Gutekunst to make his intentions clear.

The wide receiver had expressed his disinterest with the team prior to this, but the Packers assumed he was just looking for leverage to sign a larger contract. Unfortunately for Green Bay, Adams was looking at more than just money moving forward.

Las Vegas signed Adams to a five-year, $140 million contract. The deal includes a $19.25 million signing bonus, $65.67 million guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $28 million, per Spotrac.

The Packers were willing to pay the same amount, so why didn't he stick around?

The Athletic reports that Adams was smitten at the thought of reuniting with his Fresno State quarterback Derek Carr.

Now, Rodgers will have to find a new favorite offensive weapon to dominate the NFC North with. Meanwhile, former California college teammates are reunited once again, this time under the bright lights of Las Vegas, Nevada.
