In wake of their matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Lambeau Field on Sunday, the Green Bay Packers (5-6) had one of their injured running backs return to practice.

Rookie running back Aaron Jones, who suffered an MCL injury to his knee during the first quarter of the Packers' 23-16 victory over the Chicago Bears back in Week 10, was back at practice on Wednesday afternoon as a limited participant.

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy had to rely on another rookie in Jamaal Williams to carry the full load at running back on Sunday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Despite the Packers being two-touchdown underdogs, McCarthy was proud of Williams' effort in the 31-28 loss to the Steelers at Heinz Field.

“I think it’s like anything, it’s the course of the season,” McCarthy said, per ESPN's Rob Demovsky. “But at the end of the day, players are working, preparing and they all want opportunities. I think really the focus for Jamaal is he’s been given more opportunities and has been extremely productive with it. With that, you keep moving forward and you keep giving him the chances that he’s earned. I mean our health, particularly in the running back group, it speaks for itself. We’ve just got to keep playing.”

As for the Packers' opening-week starting running back Ty Montgomery, he and rookie cornerback Kevin King were the only two players who did not participate in practice on Wednesday afternoon. Montgomery is still dealing with a nagging rib injury that he suffered in the Packers' 35-14 victory over the Bears back in Week 4, while King has a shoulder injury that occurred against the Steelers.
