The Green Bay Packers broke from the long-term status quo this week, making a splash in free agency like few times in franchise history. Pass-rusher Preston Smith and safety Adrian Amos were two of the Packers' most significant acquisitions, and the team gave Cheeseheads across the globe a glimpse of what's to come on the field going forward with these awesome highlight videos of its new starting defenders.

Smith agreed to a four-year, $52 million deal with Green Bay on Tuesday. The four-year pro had previously spent the entirety of his career with the Washington Redskins, racking up a total of 24 and-a-half sacks and 59 quarterback hits.

“I feel like I have a great combination of speed and length and power,” Smith says, per the team website. “So I can mix my game up. I can beat you around the edge with speed, I can power through you. I’ve got inside moves, I feel like. And I feel like I have a lot of different moves to go out there and be effective.”

Amos, meanwhile, signed a four-year, $37 million contract with the Packers. The 25-year-old had been a starter for Chicago since the team selected him in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL draft. He enjoyed perhaps the best season of his career in 2018, notching career-highs across the board with 73 tackles, nine passes defended, and two interceptions.

Smith and Amos aren't the only impact defenders the Packers added this week. Arguably the biggest prize among them all is pass-rusher Za-Darius Smith, who came into his own last season with the Baltimore Ravens by accounting for eight-and-a-half sacks, 25 quarterback hits, and 10 tackles for loss.
