Taylor Rogers and Tyler Rogers became the fifth set of twins to ever appear in the same game on Monday in San Francisco in the Padres and Giants game. The brothers have never faced off since Taylor had previously played in Minnesota with the Twins who are in a different league and division. However, he was recently traded to the Padres who happen to be in the NL West with the Giants.

Taylor Rogers and Tyler Rogers will square off on a far more consistent basis this season.

The only other sets of twin brothers to play in the same game include: Joe Shannon and Red Shannon (1915), Bubber Jonnard and Claude Jonnard (1929), Eddie O'Brien and Johnny O'Brien (1953), and Jose Canseco and Ozzie Canseco (1990).

The twin duo also played a role in the Padres 4-2 win over the Giants.

Tyler Rogers of the Giants surrendered 1 run on 2 hits and was ultimately charged with the loss, while Taylor Rogers earned the save for the Padres while striking out two batters. So with Taylor coming out on top this time around, Tyler will surely be aiming for revenge in his next opportunity.

Both pitchers are top-tier relievers. Taylor posted a solid 3.35 ERA in Minnesota a season ago. Tyler had a jaw-dropping 2.22 ERA for a Giants team that won 107 games in 2021. They are both expected to be impactful arms out of the bullpen once again in 2022. It is going to be entertaining watching the twins duke it out in the NL West all season long.
