Imagine having the exact same name as the greatest player of all-time in a particular sport. Kind of freaky right, that’s a lot of pressure. Now imagine playing a completely different sport while representing the city that the said GOAT came from. That’s exactly what Carolina Panthers guard Michael Jordan is feeling right now.

The Panthers made headlines last week when they claimed Jordan Of The NFL off of waivers. The entirety of Twitter was rolling on the floor at the hilarity of someone else named Michael Jordan (who coincidentally was also a guard) playing for Carolina, the same city where Jordan Of The NBA came from.

Jordan Of The NFL admitted that his name caused a lot of confusion in the past. The Panthers guard recalled a particular moment when he tried to order pizza. (via ESPN)

“I placed it online in the name of ‘Michael Jordan.’ All of a sudden, it says it will be here in 20 minutes. So I called the place and said I placed an order for Michael Jordan. He started cussing me out. He said, ‘It’s Super Bowl Sunday. You can’t be playing around with fake names like that.’ Then I went in and showed him my ID, and I got free pizza for a week,”

What a wholesome ending to that hilarious exchange. What’s surprising about the two Jordans is that aside from their names, positions, and team the currently represent, the two have absolutely nothing in common. Panthers Jordan even said this about his basketball skills.

“I’m actually pretty terrible at basketball. You can ask the guys in the locker room. They already know that. I’ve been terrible since I’ve been a kid. I’ve got to look at the ball when I dribble.”

Looks like MJ doesn’t have to worry about someone else in Carolina stealing his thunder.
