Carolina Panthers rookie linebacker Jordan Kunaszyk came up with a genuinely wild interception against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night. After watching this play, isn't the only logical explanation that the University of California product is, indeed, a wizard?

The ball never touched the ground. When it was oh so close, Kunaszyk swooped his arm under the targeted Pittsburgh Steeler's leg and somehow came up with it. That's one way to make a 53-man roster.
The Panthers picked up Kunaszyk in this year's undrafted rookie market. Over three seasons as a Golden Bear, the linebacker compiled 264 combined tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, 4 interceptions, 3 pass deflections, and a pair of forced fumbles. Measuring in at 6-foot-3 and 236-pounds, he wasn't invited to the NFL Combine.
Leading up to the preseason finale, Kunasczyk had 13 combined tackles and a sack to his name. During Week 2's bout with the Buffalo Bills, he impressed, as Panthers Wire's Tim Weaver said of his outing.
“With starters Luke Kuechly and Shaq Thompson sitting out, it was a brutal night for the backup linebackers. The exception to the rule was Kunaszyk, who made a couple of nice open field tackles on his own. He tied Jermaine Carter for the team lead with seven total.”
Entering training camp, Kunaszyk faced an uphill battle to make the 53-man roster. But with practices wrapped up and preseason nearing its end, he's made a good case to be on Carolina's Week 1 roster, or somebody else's if he were to be cut. The verdict on that happening will be August 31st, the league's deadline for teams to make rosters final.
