The NFL season is here. Preseason, that is. With that being said, New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is already in midseason form and is once again giving spectacular quotes. On Sunday, Belichick gave an interesting answer regarding injuries to his team.
Belichick at his finest. But, he has a valid point. Any type of injury is concerning, especially if they happen during the preseason with guys who are fighting for roster spots.
The Patriots dealt with some big injuries last season and missed the playoffs. The hope is that they can return to the playoffs with Cam Newton–or Mac Jones– leading the charge. In Jones' NFL debut, he received a hearty standing ovation from the Patriots faithful and played decent as they beat the Washington Football Team 22-13 on Thursday night.
Perhaps the scariest moment for the Patriots was when star Matthew Judon had to leave the game early after a strong performance in his Patriots debut as well.
But, it appears that he has avoided a long-term injury and Belichick and the team has to be thrilled about that. For the time being, they will prepare for their next preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles on August 19 and hope that they can keep a healthy squad going into the season.
