The New England Patriots' resurgence this season has been impressive, but they aren't necessarily back to their world-beater form. They lost 33-21 to the Buffalo Bills, who didn't need to punt once today, which has never happened to a team coached by Bill Belichick.

The loss sent the lead of the AFC East back to Buffalo. Damien Harris said bluntly why the Patriots lost: their execution wasn't up to par.

Mac Jones echoed this sentiment, owning up to his poor performance after the game. The Patriots' rookie quarterback completed just 14 of 32 passing attempts and threw for just 145 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions. Josh Allen, meanwhile, tossed three touchdowns and threw for 314 yards.

Harris put on a great show today. He was originally listed as questionable to play due to a hamstring injury and went on to score three touchdowns and run for 103 yards. His efforts were ultimately wasted due to a terrible passing game and poor defensive performance.

New England won't take any moral victories out of this one. Belichick is as strictly business as they come, and his players know to be the same way. Devin McCourty and Kyle Van Noy were brutally honest about the sense of urgency the Patriots need moving forward.

The Patriots are still very much in the hunt to win the AFC East, but their disappointing loss today showed that they still have lots of work to do. Their next game should be a win, as they face the Jacksonville Jaguars.
