Heading into training camp, the New England Patriots have placed several important players on the PUP list. Important players on both offense and defense find themselves on the Physically Unable to Perform List.

The Patriots currently have five players on the list. Running back James White, Center David Andrews, Safety Jabrill Peppers, Cornerback Jonathan Jones, and linebacker Raekwon McMillan.

James White, David Andrews, and Jabrill Peppers will all be expected to play big roles with the Patriots this season.

James White has been an important piece of the Patriot's offense since being drafted in 2014. While he has appeared in 95 games, he has started just 13. White serves as more of a rotational back, but he is a proven staple of the unit. He has been utilized heavily in both the run game and passing game.

White has racked up 4,556 yards from scrimmage and 36 total touchdowns on 700 total touches. After being injured early on in last season, White played in just three games last season.

David Andrews has become an anchor on the Patriot's offensive line. Throughout last season, he was one of the game's best-run blockers. He posted an offensive grade of 78.0 according to PFF. He also recorded a run blocking grade of 78.6 and a pass blocking grade of 71.6. Andrews allowed just 17 total pressures, including one sack, throughout 1,087 offensive snaps in 2021.

This Patriots team, led by Mac Jones, could be one of the surprising groups of the 2022 season. But to be as good as they can, they will need to be healthy. While they are currently without several high-profile players, if they can be ready to go for the season, they could be in a good position.
