This offseason has been a busy one for Julian Edelman and the New England Patriots. First, he wins the Super Bowl MVP Award, signs an extension, and now his offseason has gotten even busier.

According to Michael McCarthy of frntofficesport.com, Edelman will have his own documentary on Showtime. The documentary will be centered on the Patriots' receiver's rise from being a college quarterback to an NFL wideout.

Some people may not know that Edelman actually played quarterback in college at Kent State. In his three seasons at Kent State, Edelman threw for 4,997 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 31 interceptions.

His numbers weren't phenomenal but his toughness caught the eye of the Patriots scouting department. Therefore, New England decided to select the college quarterback in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft.

In New England, he earned his way up the depth chart to becoming a starting wide receiver. First, he spent most of his early years as a special teamer and kick returner. He caught the eye of Bill Belichick and suddenly he found himself being a favorite of Tom Brady's.

This past season, Edelman served a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's PED policy. Following the suspension, Edelman immediately returned to being the most reliable wideout in the Patriots offense.

He played well all season and capped it off by winning the Super Bowl MVP Award. The Patriots wide receiver had 10 receptions for 141 yards and helped New England take down the Los Angeles Rams.

Undoubtedly, the unbelievable story of Edelman will be a phenomenal documentary.
