The New England Patriots are no longer considered the favorites to sign Tom Brady. Heck, they're not even considered the runner-ups to sign their franchise quarterback.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN — based upon information relayed to him by Jeff Darlington — the Tennessee Titans are the favorites to land Brady. Meanwhile, the Las Vegas Raiders are considered second while the Patriots are a distant third.

“This is going to be the most interesting question of the offseason. … Jeff Darlington is a lot more connected to that particular situation than I think a lot of people realize. And in talking with him yesterday — and my eyes were opened to this. I mean I always thought this was possible but I got even more of a hint that it’s more possible. Jeff Darlington basically … I mean, handicapped the Titans as the favorite right now. Which I was like, ‘Whoa. OK. I knew that Tennessee was an option,’ but he made it out to be more of an option than I realized it to be.

And in his mind, to rank the teams right now, would be Tennessee, Las Vegas, and New England.”

This is quite the shift considering the Patriots have been Brady's home for his entire NFL career. The fact that they've also had over a month to negotiate with Brady on a new contract should have also given them the advantage.

However, both sides have yet to negotiate a new deal. Meanwhile, the idea of Brady joining another team like the Titans or the Raiders continues to gain steam. The Mike Vrabel-Brady connection certainly helps the Titans. Meanwhile, the Raiders are aided by the fact that they're playing in a new city and have an established head coach in Jon Gruden.

With free agency due to begin on March 18, it should be interesting to see which team Brady ends up landing with.
