With the New England Patriots winning another Super Bowl, the talks of the Patriots drafting Tom Brady's eventual replacement are heating up. One guy who could get the honors of that responsibility is Will Grier.

Grier is coming into the 2018 NFL Draft after playing three years at West Virginia. The Patriots have 12 picks in this draft (most in NFL).

That gives the Patriots plenty of opportunities to select Grier if they pleased. Grier stated at the combine that he would “embrace” joining the Patriots.

The Patriots have molded themselves into the franchise that everyone wants to play for because of their ongoing success.

Since 2001, the Patriots have won six Super Bowls with Brady and Bill Belichick leading the way. They showed this past season that they still aren't done causing havoc to the league.

There are a lot of positives that come out of Grier joining an organization like the Patriots. He has things he needs to develop and learn in the NFL.

He would have an opportunity to grow and learn from arguably the greatest quarterback of all-time. He would be Brady's backup until Brady decides it's time to hang it up.

Brady would tutor Grier the same way that Drew Bledsoe once did for him. Of course, we hope that whoever steps in for Brady is under different circumstances than Bledsoe was.

Grier would also get mentored well with Josh McDaniels as his offensive coordinator. The West Virginia quarterback said that they ran a similar system in college as the Patriots.

“Honestly, Jake Spavital, my OC at West Virginia, watched a lot of Patriots film and built our offense off a lot of what they (do).”

The Patriots could go in plenty of directions in this year's draft, but Grier could be one of their selections in the second or third round. According to Grier himself, he would be fine with that.
