The New Orleans Pelicans have received a promising piece of news as Anthony Davis has been cleared of a concussion. He does have a bruised orbital bone to deal with, but he is now listed as probable to play for the Pelicans’ next game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Davis suffered a concussion, the third of his six-year career, after an inadvertent head butt from Nikola Jokic in the Pelicans’ 146-114 defeat to the Denver Nuggets on Friday. He had 17 points and five rebounds in 21 minutes of action prior to suffering the injury, which ruled him out for the rest of the game.

Davis’ possible return should be a much-needed boost for the Pelicans, who have lost two games in a row to drop back down to .500. Despite his relatively subdued production of late – he’s averaging just 18.4 points and 7.4 rebounds over his last five games – the Brow is obviously still a massive part of the Pelicans team.

Davis is averaging 25.1 points and 11 rebounds per game this season, both second on the team behind DeMarcus Cousins. He and Cousins will look to take full advantage of their significant size advantage against a Thunder team which has struggled this season in terms of rebounding.
