The New Orleans Pelicans won't be at completely full strength for their play-in matchup with the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday. There's still no timeline for Zion Williamson to make his 2021-22 debut, after all. New Orleans can at least take solace from knowing another key franchise building block will be available for its first postseason game in four years.

Pelicans star Brandon Ingram confirmed on Tuesday that he will play against San Antonio after missing his team's last three regular season games with right hamstring tightness.

Ingram quietly enjoyed banner campaign with New Orleans this season, taking major strides as a playmaker and team defender. He averaged 22.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and a career-high 5.6 assists per game, keeping New Orleans afloat despite Williamson's season-long absence and a rough start to the debut of rookie coach Willie Green.

Ingram's status for the play-in tournament was never in serious doubt. He was sidelined for the last few days of the regular season largely because the Pelicans had already clinched their postseason fate, unable to rise or fall from ninth place in the Western Conference.

New Orleans and San Antonio will tip off from Smoothie King Center at 6:30 p.m. (PST) on Wednesday night. The winner will move on to face the loser of the Minnesota Timberwolves and LA Clippers' initial play-in matchup for the right to advance to the playoffs.
