Jaxson Hayes has been one of the more productive players on the New Orleans Pelicans this season. He has filled in nicely for Zion Williamson, and provides a nice vertical threat for the guards. However, last year, Hayes got into trouble for some legal issues after he reportedly resisted arrest.
Now, Jaxson Hayes is being sued by his ex-girlfriend, Instagram model Sofia Jamora, for “assault and battery”. Per TMZ:

“Jamora claims Jaxson chased her all around the house and the property, grabbing her multiple times, tossing her around and dragging her down some stairs. She says he became enraged and started breaking anything he could get his hands on.”
“According to the docs, Jamora claims she locked Jaxson out of the house but he broke in through a window and she texted her cousins, begging them to call the cops.”
This account from Jamora, along with the date of this incident, coincides with the day that Hayes was taken in for resisting arrest. Jamora's story also lines up with the police's version of the incident, which said that they received text messages from Jamora's cousin saying that the Pelicans star was getting violent.
Hayes' arrest was a big deal when the news broke out. Body cam footage showed that the police showed excessive contact against the Pelicans star. However, in Jamora' suit, she claims that this was because Hayes was tampering with the scene.
It's unclear yet whether the Pelicans or the NBA takes action regarding this arrest. It's also unclear what impact this lawsuit will have on Hayes' playing time. Regardless, this is a serious matter at hand. Hopefully, the truth comes out soon.
