New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson has yet to play a single minute this season as he continues to deal with a lingering foot injury. It was also revealed on All-Star Weekend from CJ McCollum himself that Zion has yet to reach out to his new teammate to welcome him to NOLA and that's left former NBA sharpshooter and current ESPN analyst JJ Redick absolutely livid on First Take.

Redick, who played with Williamson on the Pelicans, ripped into the former first overall pick over his disconnect with the organization.

This just shows a complete lack of investment in your team, in the organization, in the city… I get that he's hurt away from the team, but the Pelicans just traded for one of the top 50 players in the league, a guy that's supposed to be paired with you…reach out and say hello. This is a pattern of behaviour we're seeing with Zion that we're seeing again and again, look, I was his teammate, I can describe him as a detached teammate, that is an accurate statement. This is just basic code of being a teammate, send a text to a guy when he gets traded to your team.”

Redick not holding back. He does have a point, though. The Pelicans brought in McCollum to be Zion's legitimate running mate yet he hasn't even tried to converse with him. That trade happened on February 8th. Frankly, it's unacceptable. Williamson is the face of this franchise and even though he's sidelined right now, the superstar big man needs to set a better example.

At this point, there's no sign of Zion returning this season. He may need to get another surgery on his foot as well.
