When Jordan Crawford made his New Orleans Pelicans debut last Friday night against the Phoenix Suns did he start a new trend?

He was the first NBA player not named Lonzo Ball to rock a pair of the Big Baller Brand shoes. He sported the ZO2's and dropped 13 points in nine minutes in an impressive debut with the new shoes.

It really doesn't come as a surprise that Crawford is supporting the brand that LaVar Ball started. Almost a year ago he took to Twitter to let the world know that he was ordering the shoes.

After Monday night's game against the L.A. Clippers Crawford said that he was wearing the shoes for a much bigger reason.

“The support. Supporting them,” Crawford told ESPN’s Jovan Buha. “I think it’s a great movement. [LaVar] is a character, but at the same time, he has a great plan together. So it was just about support, really.”

“I’ma for sure wear them [going forward],” Crawford said. “They’re comfortable shoes. I like the fact that it’s a new brand. It ain’t Nike or Adidas, so that make it dope.”

The good news for Crawford and the Pelicans is that they are playoff bound, and there should still be plenty of more opportunities to wear the shoes, even if he doesn't get in the game.

Crawford has played in four games this year for the Pelicans and is averaging 7.8 points and 3.0 assists. He is a good veteran leader that should be a good locker room presence for the team.
