At this point, it feels like New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson hasn't played in the NBA since the Creation of Man.

Even before the season started, several reports hinted that the burly big man would suit up, but clearly, his recovery from his foot injury has taken longer than expected for the Pelicans.

He, however, continues to head in the right direction. According to ESPN, Zion is already doing fullcourt work. He recently played in a scrimmage, and while he still has no timetable to return, Pelicans coach Willie Green sounded more optimistic than pragmatic, even finding the “beauty” in Zion's development.

“He's playing in more of a controlled scrimmage. That where he's progressed to. Past that, there's no update on him. He is where he is. The beauty of it is that it's good to see him on the floor. I think he's feeling more normal, the fact that he gets to play basketball. That's what he wants to do. That's what he loves to do. We just want him to get as healthy as he can and continue to progress in that way.”

A video of Zion looking healthy and doing an insane off-the-glass slam recently went viral, but the Pelicans have been erring on the side of caution with his return, given his history of injuries.

Zion's stepdad also made a buzz after saying he's expecting the All-Star forward to play this season. The Pelicans have qualified for the play-in tournament and will face the San Antonio Spurs.
