With no clear timetable of when franchise star Zion Williamson could return, the New Orleans Pelicans are ready to make some moves to make their team better right now. The Pels currently have one of the worst records in the league at 19-32, therefore it's no surprise they're planning to be buyers at the February 10th NBA Trade Deadline.

NOLA has been recently linked to CJ McCollum, but there are now three other players, in particular, the Pelicans are eyeing, while also making the likes of Jaxson Hayes, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, and Josh Hart available in talks.

Via HoopsHype:

The New Orleans Pelicans appear to be buyers heading into the trade deadline and have expressed interest in trading for several players, including Harrison Barnes, Robert Covington and Eric Gordon, league sources told HoopsHype.

Rival executives also believe Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Jaxson Hayes are both available for the right upgrade as well. According to multiple executives, the Pelicans are more willing to listen on moving Alexander-Walker than in the past.

Josh Hart is also a player to keep an eye on, thanks to his team-friendly contract, which is non-guaranteed next season, as noted on our Pelicans salary page. Some teams have liked him from afar. One of those teams is Atlanta.

Harrison Barnes and Eric Gordon would bring lots of experience to New Orleans. Both players can shoot it well and play solid defense. Same with Covington. It's not like any of these three are going to make the Pelicans sudden contenders, but it's clear the team needs a change. Outside of Brandon Ingram and Jonas Valanciunas, production has been limited.

It will be interesting to see if the Pels can pull the trigger on any deals.
