The New Orleans Pelicans reportedly talked to the Brooklyn Nets about a Jrue Holiday trade before this past deadline, and these discussions could certainly crop up again this offseason. In a possible deal, Caris LeVert would be the centerpiece player going back to New Orleans.
On the daily Locked On Pelicans Podcast, host Jake Madison explains why the Pelicans should consider a trade for Caris LeVert and what kind of role he would thrive in next to Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram:

Jake Madison: If you're the Pelicans, are you comfortable getting Caris LeVert as the main piece in a trade for Jrue Holiday?
I am if he accepts a bench role and wants to be the sixth man for this team. I don't know if I want to put a player like that in the starting lineup alongside Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram. There's not enough ball to go around in a situation like this. Caris LeVert coming off the bench and fulfilling a Manu Ginobili type role, sign me up for that. That's where I think he could be really advantageous, having any guy who kind of checks a number of the boxes that Ginobili gives you … I don't want him running with the starters for the majority of the game, but to close out a game? Sure, I think he can be a very valuable guy there. He's making $16 million next season, $17.5 million, and then $18.75 million the year after that. I think there is value in him if he accepts that role … The fact that he's under team control and cheap for the next three years makes me feel a little bit better about trading Jrue Holiday for him.
In terms of playing with the starters the whole game, I'm a little iffy on that. I could see him doing well in a different kind of role. If that's the role the Pelicans envisioned for him and think they can build a team that suits those strengths, then sign me up for that. It's something to consider: Are you comfortable trading Jrue Holiday for a guy who maybe shouldn't be a starter for your team and shouldn't play alongside Zion and Ingram a ton until it comes down to trying to close the game out?
