The PGA Tour heads to Valhalla Golf Club for the PGA Championship this weekend! Check out our PGA Tour odds series as we hand out a PGA Championship prediction and pick. We will also let you know how to watch the game.

The PGA Championship was won by Brooks Koepka last season. As we all know, Koepka is part of the LIV Tour, so it was an even more historic win. Koepka shot nine-under par to edge out Scottie Scheffler and Viktor Hovland by two strokes. He did all that after an opening round score of two-over par. He will be looking to defend his championship this weekend.

Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky will host this event. It is a longer course as it comes in at 7,609 yards. The par-3s average over 200 yards, as well. The big hitters might have a little bit of an easier time navigating Valhalla – if they can be accurate. The biggest part of this event is going to be approach shots from 175+ out. Those long irons are going to be crucial for the winner in this event. There is some rain expected, as well, so keep that in mind.

Favorite Picks for PGA Championship

Scottie Scheffler: Scheffler is quite literally the best golfer in the world. He did not participate in the Wells Fargo Championship due to the birth of his kid, but he is back for the PGA Championship. He leads the PGA Tour in total strokes gained, strokes gained: approach to green, greens in regulation, putting average, and birdie average. There is a reason Scheffler is the clear favorite, and he could easily show why in this even.

Brooks Koepka: Koepka is the returning champion, but that is not the only reason he is one of the favorite picks here. He is coming off a win in Singapore on the LIV Tour, and he has played well all season. He came in 10th in Australia, and he is in fifth overall in the individual standings, as well. Koepka is sixth on the LIV Tour in greens in regulation, as well. Oh, and don't forget, Koepka actually holds the record for lowest four rounds (264) at Valhalla.

Xander Schauffele: Schauffele is playing well at the right time. He has been playing well all season, though. Schauffele has made every cut this season, and he has finished in the top-10 eight times. This includes a top-10 finish at the Masters this year. Schauffele is second in strokes gained on the PGA Tour, first in approach shots from over 200 yards, and 23rd in greens in regulation. As long as Schauffele continues to play as he is, you can expect to see his name towards the top of the leaderboard Sunday.

Jon Rahm: It is Rahm's first season on the LIV Tour, and he is enjoying a lot of success. He is currently in second in the overall standings, and his team is in second. Rahm has not won yet, but he has not finished higher than 10th place in any of the events. He leads the LIV Tour in birdie average, and his number would be second on the PGA Tour. Rahm also hits over 73 percent of greens in regulation. He is a great golfer, and he can prove it once again at the PGA Championship.

Other Good Picks for PGA Championship

Ludvig Aberg: Aberg is going to be very good for a long time on the PGA Tour. The 24-year-old has finished in the top-10 five times this season, including a second-place finish at the Masters in April. He has not teed off since the RBC Heritage, but that was a 10th-place finish. Aberg is good on his approaches, and he crushes the ball off the tee. Along with that, he is pretty accurate on his long drives. If Aberg is at his best at Valhalla, he is going to make some noise.

Justin Thomas: Thomas won the PGA Championship in 2022, which is why he is here. Along with that, Thomas is slowly returning to the dominant golfer he was before struggling for a while. He is coming off a T21 finish at the Wells Fargo Championship, and he finished T5 at the RBC Heritage before that. Thomas still has some stuff to clean up, but if he does, there is a chance for him to win his second PGA Championship in three years.

Joaquin Niemann: Niemann is currently the individual leader on the LIV Tour. This is because he ranks second in birdie average, second in total eagles, second in greens in regulation, and second in driving distance. Not only does Niemann crush the ball, but he does so with accuracy. Niemann has to continue this at Valhalla. He had a pretty good showing at the Masters, and he expects the same here at the PGA Championship.

Byeong Hun An: Hun An has five top-10 finishes and two of them have come in his last two starts. In fact, Hun An he finished T4 and third in his last two starts, so he is striking it well right now. Hun An also had a T16 finish at the Masters this season. Hun An is 12th in greens in regulation, and he can really smack the ball. He is swinging the clubs well, and he should be able to continue that momentum at the PGA Championship.

Final PGA Championship prediction and pick

It is very hard not to pick Scheffler in this event. He is the best golfer in the world, and can win anytime he tees off. I also did not mention Rory McIlroy at all, and he is coming off a win. However, I am going to go with Joaquin Niemann. He is striking the ball well, and he can definitely win this event. My PGA Championship winner prediction is Joaquin Niemann.

Final PGA Championship prediction and pick: Joaquin Niemann (+3500)
