Tiger Woods didn't hold back when asked about the dozens of his peers who have since defected from the PGA tour to join to LIV Golf circuit.

The legendary golfer went on a passionate rant on the polarizing issue ahead of the 2022 British Open on Tuesday morning. Tiger Woods claimed that the defectors had effectively “turned their back” on the platform that allowed them to reach their current standing in the sport in the first place:

“As far as the second part of your question about the players who have chosen to go to LIV and to play on — to play there, I disagree with it. I think that what they've done is they've turned their back on what has allowed them to get to this position,” said Woods.

Tiger Woods went further and elaborated on how the entire LIV Golf fiasco could prove to be a serious issue when it comes to the future of the sport, particularly with the young players who've have little to no experience with the PGA Tour and joining LIV's revamped format that guarantees money instead of paying it off primarily based on merit.

“Some players have never got a chance to even experience it. They've gone right from the amateur ranks right into that
organization and never really got a chance to play out here and what it feels like to play a TOUR schedule or to play in
some big events”

“But what these players are doing for guaranteed money, what is the incentive to practice? What is the incentive to go outthere and earn it in the dirt? You're just getting paid a lot of money up front and playing a few events and playing 54 holes. They're playing blaring music and have all these atmospheres that are different,” Tiger Woods continued.

Here's the complete transcript of Tiger Woods's rant:

Some of the game's biggest names such as Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, and Bryson DeChambeau have opted to make the jump to the PGA Tour rival. Don't expect Tiger Woods – the game's biggest draw for decades – to make the same leap.
