Phil Mickelson did not hide his emotions when he got on his phone and decided to send out a tweet. It was to express his feelings over The Detroit News‘ decision to run an old story about how the golfer was allegedly scammed by a bookie that had ties to the mob. He would also later give his seal of approval to a particular Kevin Durant tweet from March 2021.

First up, here's the tweet that Phil Mickelson posted Saturday morning.

“Usually when a neg piece is printed,I let it go,it’s gone in a day and I just don’t return. This week I called out RobSnell for a 23 year old story that he sat on for 3 years?Or a month?because his self-centered opportunism undermines many people here in Det trying to help others.”

Phil Mickelson had already said that he won't be returning to any future iterations of the Rocket Mortgage Classic, which is just in its third year, as his own way of making sure that his disgust over the news story and its timing of publication is clearly conveyed.

A reply by No Laying Up to Phil Mickelson's tweet contained sage advice from the Brooklyn Nets star when it comes to managing one's energy on Twitter and it appears that the two stars of their respective sports are on the same page.
