Blake Griffin has taken a stand for all athletes that have at some point been called dumb after answering postgame questions with the bare minimum insight or a PR-filled spiel. The Detroit Pistons big man put Jimmy Fallon to the test and into his own shoes by showing him just how he feels during in-game interviews.

“People always think athletes are really stupid, and it's not that we're stupid, it's that we just exercise for two hours and there's not enough oxygen in our brain to actually be able to—can I show you?…”

Griffin would then ask the host of The Tonight Show what it's really like to answer questions on the fly after exercising and having that picked apart by people sitting in chairs or standing and watching through the course of the game.

Griffin is a natural comedian and very good with his stand up, as the Pistons star showcased with Fallon, but in truth, American sports are often guilty of wanting to deliver this very raw experience of reporting right after the fact and while it can make for some memorable moments from time to time, most occasions are filled with dull, uncertain responses and a load of PR salad.

This bit shows how the majority of athletes feel when asked questions right at halftime or right after a game, often yet to process or analyze what just went on after a rush of adrenaline that comes from being in the game.
